Our Sustainability Plan

Planet health is as important as skin health, so we’re committed to creating sustainable solutions for our products, packaging, and processes. We only invest in scientifically proven innovations and technological advancements that are guaranteed to deliver long-term benefits for generations.

Here are just a few of the changes we have made, and we’re continuing to make more:

100% Sustainable Energy

We use 100% renewable energy in our Hemel Hempstead warehouse and London headquarters. Solar panels generate energy for our warehouse building, while in our London office, BREEAM is used to specify and measure the sustainability performance of our building.

Recycling Scheme

We facilitate sustainable change for our partners with projects such as our recycling initiative. To ensure that all possible packaging components are correctly and responsibly recycled, we buy back Environ empties from our salon community, crediting £1 back onto salon accounts for every empty we receive. So far, we have received over 100,000 empties retuned to us. We are working with a third party to ensure these empties are recycled and repurposed in a sustainable way.

We have fully transitioned to electric cars. In 2020 we reduced our fleet of petrol cars and the remaining replaced by electric. Electric vehicles produce up to 81% less CO2. We’ve switched our international shipments to sea freight, reducing CO2 emissions by 84%.

Ingredients

We have full traceability of ingredients in our Advanced Nutrition Programme™ supplements – we can track our EPAX-assured Omega fish oils to the individual fishing boat.

Our ingredients are sourced as close to home as possible using sustainable suppliers, and our capsules are manufactured in the UK.

The vitamin C we use has the lowest carbon footprint of any available on the market and is produced in Scotland by the only vitamin C manufacturer in the west, resulting in 59% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to equivalents, additionally saving huge amounts on shipping emissions.

Office Sundries

Our monthly bulletin is printed using responsibly sourced paper from (Forestry Stewardship Council) FSC certified forests. Upgrading print devices to reduce printing footprint. New devices can use 50% less paper, recycled toner and have eco, power-saving modes. Migrating to cloud storage and phasing out ‘always on’ processes, shifting to systems that only draw power when needed to minimise energy usage. In customer services, there has been a full transition to a paperless in-house returns process. Additionally, customers will be encouraged to print return labels on recycled or reused paper to minimise paper use across the process.
