Our co-founder Tracy Tamaris shares her take on upcoming trends in the skincare industry.

I believe one of the biggest trends for 2025 will be an even greater interest in healthy ageing – not only adding years but making those years count. This has been called a “mega-trend” by the Global Wellness Institute.

Global life expectancy is set to increase by 5 years in 2025 and, according to the WHO, 22% of the world’s population will be 60 and over by 2050.

Healthy ageing is the new anti-ageing

We will see this trend continue to develop, and more people will seek to reduce their biological age.

This trend organically encapsulates skin and will support the need for healthy, glowing and naturally rejuvenated skin as opposed to skin that is artificially enhanced. There will be an emphasis of prevention over repair with younger people taking their skincare routines seriously, opening up an opportunity for our industry to take the lead in educating these new clients.

How can we support healthy ageing?

As we continue learning how to increase our health span via nutrition, wearable tech, hormones, sleep, social connections and lifestyle, there will be a natural desire to do the same for skin.

The iiaa have been the pioneers and thought leaders in this holistic approach for the past 30 years with science backed, personalised and targeted solutions for healthy skin as we age.

Continued advances in research and innovation secure our place at the forefront of skin health.  Consumers want to see clear added value for their purchasing decisions, which puts you as salon owners at the forefront of this trend.

I have been the perfect guinea pig, having followed all iiaa protocols for over 30 years, and look forward to having my biological age tested.
